JAX-RS for RESTful Web Services
Capstone today releases two new courses in the area of web services. Course 563, "Developing RESTful Services in Java," introduces both JAXB and JAX-RS, and shows Java programmers how to use the JAX-RS reference implementation -- known as Jersey -- to build RESTful services.
In the process, we have extracted the first two chapters of our existing, SOAP-oriented web services course (Course 561) to create a one-day "Overview of Java Web Services,". This is Course 560 and it is appropriate for both developers and non-developers.
This gives students a good range of options for pursuing web services skills: a simple overview or a "deep dive" into either SOAP- or REST-oriented technology.
