Tool Setup Instructions

XML Toolset for Crimson, Version 3.70

If the course you are setting up requires Crimson XML Toolset 3.70, follow these instructions to set it up on the student and instructor machines. If you have questions, please contact your courseware vendor.

This "tool" is simply an integration of our XML Schema Validator with the Crimson text editor. Both should be set up already — consult your course setup guide.

Crimson can load custom external tool configurations from a file. Download the following archive, and unpack it to c:\Capstone\XMLTools:

You'll see a single new file CrimsonXMLToolset.cmd.

Start the Crimson text editor. Choose Tools | Conf. User Tools from the menu. Click the Load Tools ... button on the dialog that appears, and browse to CrimsonXMLToolset.cmd. Click Open, and the two custom commands used in our Core XML courses will apear in the user-tools list: "Validate XML" and "Check XML Schema".
