Tool Setup Instructions

JDBC RowSet Reference Implementation, Version 1.0.1

If the course you are setting up requires JDBC RowSet 1.0.1, follow these instructions to set it up on the student and instructor machines. If you have questions, please contact your courseware vendor.

The installer link for the reference implementation is located at:

http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/download.html - rowset1_0_1

Click on the "Download" link next to the title, "Reference Implementation." You will be presented with a license agreement: read this and accept the terms. Then you will see the file, jdbc_rowset_tiger-1_0_1-mrel-ri.zip. Download this file to a temporary location.

Locate the installation of J2SE 1.4 that was installed earlier. From within this directory, locate the directory jre\lib\ext. For instance, if J2SE 1.4 is installed in C:\j2sdk1.4.2, then this directory would be C:\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib\ext. Next, copy rowset.jar from the temporary location above to this directory. Be sure that the instructor is aware of the location of this file for in-class configuration and exercises.
